Fourth of July

Our Fourth of July festivities the last few years have centered around two of our favorite words: pancake breakfast. Why? Because what is more fun than a community event where local churches, or the Lions or Kiwanis club members, or local cheerleaders and key club members, show up to feed hundreds of people? This year, we were slightly pancake breakfast challenged due to our move to Union City. Instead of going back to Albany, we decided to head over to Foster City (which, by the way, seems like a great place to see fireworks due to its strategic location on the water - maybe we’ll head back next year). Noralee had a great time, eating pancakes and checking out all the people/dogs.

Later that afternoon, Mark and Jenny and the boys came over for hotdogs, burgers and fireworks. Union City is one of the few places in Alameda County that doesn’t ban your own individual fireworks, so we set off our own. Don’t worry, we kept it tame.
